Runners of the Burns Park Run can help our school and the programs our PTO supports, as well as other charities. Some of our kids have learned a lot about charity... click to listen to their words here: On Mott Children's Hospital If each registrant has just one or two friends willing to donate in the runner friend's name, the Burns Park Run could raise a significant amount of money for these charities! During online registration, consider signing up to RUN FOR A CHARITY to raise money for something you care about. Not sure? Choose one and sign up - you'll be able to decide later if you want to contact your friends - if not, no harm done. FUNDRAISING PAGES ARE SET UP - BUT WE CAN ADD MORE! And feel free to use the images and text at these pages if you wish to setup your own page through another fundraising site - like FIRSTGIVING.com. YOU CAN SIGN UP HERE - OR SIGN UP DURING RACE REGISTRATION: 1. Before you register, review the links AT RIGHT and choose a non-profit that interests you. 2. Register online and select your charity when prompted. A donation is not required. 3. Create an Active.com username and password corresponding to the person being registered to run (write it down.) - NOTE: Parents will have to sign themselves up for an Active account and let kids use the link for kids who wish to raise money. 4. Complete your race registration. 5. You will receive an email with your personal fundraising page information and two web links. 6. After hitting the first link, you can follow the instructions to enhance your fundraising page if you wish - but this is not required. We SUGGEST that you just add a brief personal message and a fundraising goal, for example. Be sure to save and preview. You'll have a page very similar to the base page! You can forward the link to this page with your own email system. 7. When done customizing, hit "Send Emails" to add friends' email addresses and a personal email message by following the simple instructions. That's it! Check back to your page and add emails or check progress anytime! |
